Walt Whitman Please join us as we make ourselves better people at this year's El Cosmico party on October 10 and 11, 2008. We hope to see you by the campfire. DanceThis year we will have a very special night of music by Alejandro Escovedo - Friday night at 9 pm. This show is included in the price of camping. If you aren't camping with us, cost is $10 at the front gate. PlayJoin us for the Second Annual sandlot baseball showdown between Austin's Texas Playboys and Los Yonke Gallos de Marfa. You will have fun, but be warned: you may be kissed by a giant squirrel, or derided by a large and boisterous chicken. Saturday evening, 3:30 p.m. at Vizcaino Field. SleepBring your tent/teepee/nomadic dwelling and sleep on the ground with us. If you want to bring a trailer or RV, please contact us with info about your land yacht and we will see if we can accommodate it. We do not have RV hookups onsite. Cost to camp is $30 per tent/dwelling and includes the Friday night concert - just pay when you show up. EatThis year we are doing things differently. Please plan to bring your own provisions and a way to keep them cold and we will bring the open fire for cooking. No BBQ fare or coffee will be offered for sale onsite this year. Support the Marfa economy and buy food from amazing local vendors at the Farm Stand Marfa - Saturday 10 am. For fancy last minute supplies in Marfa, try the fabulous Get Go. Foodstuffs are also available at the Pueblo market, and delicious meals are available at the world famous Food Shark nearby or at any of Marfa's local restaurants. DrinkWe aren't trying to oversimplify. Beer and wine will be available for sale Friday and Saturday evenings until the law allows. Bring cash! See it before it's there: El Cosmico is located on Highway 67, just outside of the main center of Marfa.
